Darrell opened House of the Spirit Bear Gallery on 3957 Main St, Vancouver BC In 2005

​

 The gallery specialized in first nations art work including Norval Morrisseau, Bill Reid, Robert Davidson, Daphne Odjig, Eddy Cobiness, Carl Bean and local artist Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas, Bill Helin, Steve Smith, Reg Davidson, Andrew Dexel and Mark Anthony Jacobson.

 

Sponsor of Vancouver's Spirit Bears in the City and a major sponsor for Eagles in The City where the three eagles prominently displayed in front of the Vancouver Convention Centre.

•           

Worked with Indian Motorcycles Los Angeles to help manage and create a custom "Mystery Chief" Indian MC with island artist Bill Helin.

•           

Managed the purchase of MNY's "Tales of the Hood" series of art works that were showed through UBC's Museum of Anthropoligy and then brokered the eventual sale to the Glenbow Museuam in Calgary.

•           

The National Gallery of Canada commissioned him to write extensive appraisals of Norval Morrisseau, Eddy Cobiness and Daphne Odjig.
